Cevahir opened in 2005 in Sisli and was for several years the largest shopping centre in Europe by floor area. It holds around three hundred and forty shops on six levels, under a glass roof carrying what is claimed to be the world’s second-largest clock face.
The mix is mainstream rather than luxury: high-street fashion, electronics, a large food court, a cinema and a small indoor amusement area for children. Prices are lower than at the newer centres further north.
It is open daily from 10:00 to 22:00 and sits directly above the Sisli-Mecidiyekoy metro station, which makes it one of the easiest malls to reach without a car.
From Hotel Sultania take the tram to Kabatas and the M2 metro to Sisli; around forty minutes.
